
Brett Allen Smith is an American filmmaker and journalist, most recently covering warzones in Iraq, Israel and the Palestinian territories.
In 2014 he wrote and directed his debut feature film, Never, starring Zelda Williams (daughter of Robin Williams) in her first starring role. The film was co-produced with Outlaw Productions (sex, lies, and videotape; Training Day) and played in cinemas across America in 2016. He also co-directed and shot the documentary feature Three Boys in Israel and Palestine for RTL infoNetwork, Germany's largest public broadcaster, which premiered on European TV in over 8 million homes.
In 2021 Brett was chosen for the La Selva Ecosistema Creatiu Film Accelerator in Spain, where he directed the short film Mierda under the guidance of Werner Herzog. In 2022 he was selected for the first Creators Lab by PlayLab Films, during which time he made short films under the guide of Apichatpong Weerasethakul in the Peruvian Amazon jungle.
